Dr. Carla N. de Sa graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery from the A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore (India) in 2009. She pursued further education at the University College London (United Kingdom), where she received a Master's degree in Dental Public Health and Epidemiology and graduated with a distinction in 2011. In 2019, Dr. Carla graduated with a second Master's degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). She is a dual-trained specialist in Dental Public Health and Pediatric Dentistry with research interests in pediatric malnutrition, growth, and development.
She has worked in private practice and community-based programs in India, the National Health Service (NHS) UK, and in Michigan. She is currently an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Ann Arbor, teaching Pediatric Dentistry to undergraduate and graduate students.
Dr. Carla is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
In her spare time, she loves to listen to music, read, cook, and spend time with her husband, Andre, and fur baby, Leo.
